Get ready for winter
West Lothian CHCP is supporting West Lothian Council’s Winter Ready West Lothian Campaign.
The campaign explains the steps that are being made in preparation for a severe winter this year and also explains how residents can help. For example this year West Lothian has: - bought record levels of salt - invested in new snow clearing machines - developed the new email service - published a four-page winter supplement in the council newspaper Bulletin (distributed during week starting 14 November) Residents can help by: - Parking sensibly as abandoned vehicles cause problems for everyone - Sharing information with neighbours and friends and looking out for vulnerable neighbours - If you are able, clear the path and pavement in front of your home. - Look out for the winter Bulletin and keep it handy More information is available on the council's website: www.westlothian.gov.uk/winter (new window) You may also want to follow developments on the social media website Facebook, you don't need to open an account, just visit: www.facebook.com/westlothiancouncil Enewsletter launched - The e-information service will only be used when there is significant disruption to council services - such as during periods of severe weather. Signing up for this service will allow us to provide you with important updates on the council's response. - The eBulletin service is an enewsletter which will be sent regularly from the end of October. This will give you updates on the latest news from the council.
