The Ability Centre in Carmondean will host an open day for the Sensory Resource Centre on Friday 19th October.
The day will give people who are visually impaired or hearing impaired an understanding of the help and equipment available through the West Lothian CHCP service.
In addition there will be information from organisations assisting those with sensory impairment as well as a chance to chat to staff involved in the area.
Steven Laidlaw, a social worker, working with visually impaired people said “This is also a great opportunity for people with sensory impairments to meet others who are in a similar situation, possibly even over a cup of tea in the café, which will be available on the day. “
The open day is from 10am until 4pm at the Ability Centre. For further information contact Steven 01506 774497, email steven.laidlaw@westlothian.gov.uk, or visit www.westlothianchcp.org.uk. Information on the Sensory Resource Centre can also be made available in a range of other languages and formats
