West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership is a partnership between NHS Lothian and West Lothian Council developed to further enhance the delivery of integrated health and social care services to the people of West Lothian.

The Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014 aims to support improvements in the quality and consistency of services through the integration of health and social care.

In West Lothian, a new body, the Integration Joint Board (IJB), has responsibility for some functions delegated to it by the West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian.

The delegated functions include adult community health services, adult social care services and some hospital services.

The West Lothian IJB is responsible for the governance, strategic and community planning of these services. New governance arrangements are in place in relation to children's services.

Operationally all these services are managed by the joint Director post.
